1977 Returned to Jandowae to reside at "The Rockies", Jandowe East.

1988—2004 | Taralga Retirement Village—Member of Taralga Management Committee for 16 years. Chairperson for three years. Supportive roll to residents and staff, provided many outings for residents by bus and car. Worked at working bees—landscaping together with all things relevant to improving the facility. Retired from committee in 2004. 2007 rejoined management committee. Member of committee to organize 25th anniversary celebrations for Taralga collating 25 years of history. Taralga is testament to the voluntary work provided by the residents of the Jandowae Community. | |
1988— | 19 years providing a free bus for the Lion's World Service Day (held in October of each year). Travel for mature residents to various locations around Jandowae and district. | |
1987— | 20 years delivery of meals on wheels roster for delivery every five—bsix weeks. | |
1980— | 27 years as Rotary Partner (Ken is a Rotarian). Rotary partners play a supportive roll in assisting with all Rotary functions and service provided to the community.
A Major project in the year 1995 — Rotary provided and built the impressive entrance to the Jandowae Recreation Ground. | |
1978—2007 | 29 years service to Jandowae and District Show Society.
Eleven years as Secretary, seven years as President, five years as Assistant Secretary. Many years as steward for trophies, ribbons and space allocation together with catering and BBQ.
Conducted local Miss Showgirl and Princess competitions, Show Ball's and garden party's. Representative of Jandowae Show to the Darling Downs sub-chamber of Agricultural societies for twenty-seven years, assisted organizing three triennial show management seminars, together with "Queen of the Downs" and the early years of Darling Downs Miss Showgirl awards. Delegate for Jandowae to the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies.
1982 Member of the inaugural committee for the Queensland Miss Showgirl Awards. 1982—1992, 10 years as showgirl coordinator for Queensland liaising with Qld Country Life Newspaper and sponsors of the awards. This was a voluntary position which involved travelling throughout the state of Queensland promoting the competition and coordinating all regional entrants for their visit to Brisbane for the State Final of the Queensland Miss Showgirl awards. This event is conducted in conjunction with the Royal Nation Association —Exhibition.
10 years as chaperone to the eleven entrants, chosen each year, representing all regions of Queensland, for five days whilst they visit Brisbane.
Member of the State "Cotton Creations" committee 2000—2003, conducted by the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies. This involved preparation for conducting judging of garments created and produced by members of shows throughout Queensland for presentation and modelling at the state final conducted in Brisbane at Exhibition time. | |
