Closure of Jandowae NHW; At a recent Police conference we were advised by the Dalby Crime Prevention Coordinator that Neighbour Hood Watch (NHW)is now 100% online. And NHW groups such as ours are/have become obsolete. Funds from NHW groups that have recently closed have typically donated their NHW funds to local charitable groups for example in Dalby to the local youth group.
I have spoken with the staff and Jandowae Police Station and we are of the opinion that it is time to close down the Jandowae NHW group. I have also discussed this matter with our Police Inspector and Crime Prevention Officer who are stationed at Dalby.
The next step is to decide how to disperse the NHW funds held here, this will be left up to the members of the Jandowae NHW group to decide, which could be discussed further in General Business. In relation to NHW, the Jandowae Police will provide the local magazine with a Police report to keep our community members/stakeholders advised of local Police matters and crime prevention strategies. We would like to see the street numbering project be finalised and then meet again for a final time. I guess the days of discussing Crime Prevention to a small group of community members has past and the digital age has taken effect.
