Police Report May 2018

On Friday 1/5/2018 at approx. 7.30 p.m. a male patron was assaulted by a contract worker at one of the Jandowae Hotels, this assault was unprovoked and this type of violent behaviour will not be tolerated. Police are conducting inquiries as to the identity of the contract worker with a view to barring him under the Liquor Accord from all licensed establishments in the Jandowae Police Division.

At about 2 a.m. on Saturday 5/5/2018 Police & QAS were called to one of the Hotels in Jandowae as a 61 year old male was found lying in the street with a head injury, this male was involved in a heated argument with his partner earlier in the evening at another Hotel. He was transported to Jandowae Hospital & then through to Toowoomba Base Hospital. Initial inquiries conducted reveal the intoxicated male probably fell over heavily, investigations are continuing in relation to this incident.

On 4th - 6th May, 2018 Police from Jandowae & Bell worked at the Big Skies event at Jimbour House, there were markets, live bands a licensed bar & many other events in progress. The event was held without incident & Police are very happy with the behaviour of all community members & visitors at this event.

On Wednesday 23/5/2018 a Liquor Accord Meeting is being held at the Exchange Hotel, representatives from Police, Ambulance, Liquor Licensing, Licensees from all Hotels & clubs in Jandowae will be in attendance.

On Friday 1/6/2018 Police and Jandowae State School are running a Blue Light Disco at the Memorial Hall, junior disco from 5.30 p.m. — 7 p.m. & senior disco/high school students from 7 p.m. — 8 p.m., the cost of entry is a gold coin donation to the P&C & all students must be signed in by a responsible adult. If you are a blue card holder & would like to assist Police & teachers supervising the students in attendance either drop into the Police Station on a Monday or Tuesday or speak to teacher Mrs Colleen WUNSCH.

At present Jandowae Police have a number of boxing & kickboxing bags, bag mitts, boxing gloves at the Station, this equipment was previously used at the Dalby PCYC, if you would like to make a small donation you can purchase a bag, boxing gloves etc. The money donated assists Police to maintain/update the Blue light disco equipment.

PROCLAMATION

By virtue of the powers vested in me under Section 96 of the Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995, the following roads will he closed between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday 9th June 2018 for the purpose of conducting the Timbertown Parade.
