Not just used to maintain town water pressure but because of its height is part of the Western Downs Council's elevated Line-of-Sight computer network. It functions as a junction that allows multiple users to connect to the Council Computer Network as anyone who can see a town water tower is able to connect to the Council network via suitable aerials.
