MINUTES of meeting held on Monday 10th November 2008
At The Community Centre at 7.30 p.m.
1. Present— Daryl Donald, Ros.Balston, Jan Bickerton, Ian & Heather Gall, Doreen Beard, Beryl King, Violy Geist and Vince Scouller.
2. APOLOGIES— Mary Cleary, Jack and Ros Lockhart and Shauna Coombes.
3. MINUTES
OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING
3.1. Moved by Ian Gall and seconded by Beryl King that the minutes of the previous
meeting be confirmed as read CARRIED
4. BUSINESS ARISING
4.1 Ian Gall advised that the plans for the Shearers Quarters ramp had been received from Council and were now in the hands of Ron Woods. It is hoped that work will soon commence.
4.2 Ros Balston advised that that she had received advice from Nevin Olm regarding the reeds in the creek and this was that roundup be used to eradicate the problem.

7. BUSINESS
ARISING FROM THE CORRESPONDENCE
7.1 President Darryl advised that he has arranged for
a number of young business people and some others to attend the planning
meeting to help Council adopt a corporate plan for the next five years.
7.2 No date has been set for a meeting with DRC to set
up a network of Museums / Heritage / Progress Soc. within the Council region.

9. GENERAL BUSINESS
9.1
Vince Scouller advised that the trough had been
“tarred” and only one small leak remained. It is hoped that this will take up.
The
tank is to be shifted in the very near future and the mill is not pumping as it
should, possible cause could be water table to low.
9.2
Ros Balston gave a rundown on some upcoming grants. Resolved
that she would get together with Heather Gall and come up with a submission for
the Powerlink Grant Application.
Others
will be left in abeyance until after a meeting to be held on the 24th
November.
9.3
Daryl Donald advised of the meeting to be held on the 24th November.
It is hoped that representatives of all community groups will be present to help
formulate a combined plan for the town.
Rose Heintze from DRC will be present to explain where/how to
access grant funding.
9.4 Moved by Vince Scouller and
seconded by Ian Gall that we purchase a laminator for use in laminating of labels
etc. by the association.
9.5
Resolved that we hold a Xmas get together at Ros & Tony’s
residence on a date to be advised
9.6 Vince
Scouller showed a copy of a proposed brochure. Next
step is to have Doug Henning do a town map of the proposed sites.
9.7
The secretary was asked to write to the Dalby Regional Council and enquire
about the reimbursement of money paid for insurance. At this time also thank
Council for their donation of $250 .00 towards the cost of the Australia Day
function.
9.8
Jan Bickerton was given permission to remove some
plants from the garden. She advised that she will ask Wayne Ellis to assist.
10. CLOSE—As there was no further business the Chairman closed the meeting at 8.55 pm.
The next meeting will be held Monday 1st December 2008, At the Community Centre.
