Minutes For 21/09/2013 (Saturday)
Jandowae And District Progress & Heritage Association Inc.

Present: Peter Ireland, Jan Bickerton, Ian and Heather Gall, Betty Wassell, Doreen Beard

Apologies: Ros Balston, Ruth Sargent, Margaret Atkinson, Beryl King, Daryl Donald

Peter welcomed all present to the meeting.

Minutes: The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Heather. Heather moved and Betty seconded that the minutes be accepted as read.

Business arising: The asbestos account has been paid. Rick has the money for the sign. Michael Hill will remove more materials from the school after it is relocated. Peter put a letter in the Jandowae magazine for new members but so far no interest shown.

Correspondence: Heather moved and Doreen seconded that the inwards be received and the outwards be endorsed. Inwards — Jandowae in Springtime Invitation, Qld Government Dept. Of Fair Trading (Incorporation), Garden Club (Noela Wilson), Insurance Advisernet Account. Outwards —Peter letter to the archives requesting plans for the old school.

Treasurer's Report: The Cr. Balance in the working account is $15,041.12. Payment of $35 for fuel to Peter. The Investment Account balance is $15,385.53.

General Business:

• Peter passed around the plans of old schools that he received from the Archives. They didn't appear to be very helpful for our situation.
• Peter saw Charmaine Wassell regarding the relocation of the building. At present they are restumping the Kindergarten and our job might be next.
• Our Annual Meeting will be held on Monday 14th October at 7.30pm in the Cultural Centre. Heather is to book the Cultural Centre. Peter will ask Daryl to chair the meeting and Heather is to put a notice in the magazine.
• There is a sign at the Caravan Park re. Athlone precinct. Tourists can ring Jan or Peter. It was suggested that we need another sign at the Show Grounds.
• The Council intends to lower the water level in the creek and it was suggested that they place stones on the other creek bank. Peter will request that they do this.
• Ian and Peter took a big load of rubbish from the school to the dump.
