Letter To The Chief Executive Officer Ross Musgrove

Dear Sir,
Jandowae rumour claims that without fan-fare you are currently reviewing the Aged Care offered to Western Downs residents. As such facilities are essential to the lives of many older and incapacitated residents could you please explain why the community should not be apprehensive of your intentions, especially as the public history of CEOs shows a disregard for anyone but themselves? (See "Dirty Rotten CEOs" by William G Flanagan)

Nor is such anxiety eased by the Council's recent actions, all without any warning or discussion, which include:

• The moving of the Dalby library from its previous convenient inner city location to the edge of town
• The attempt to introduce a flood plan that would have unnecessarily penalized residents.
• The attempt to make residents pay to use the Cultural Centre offices for local meetings
• The attempt to reduce the rent for the hire of the Jandowae Memorial Hall to a below cost fee.
• The changing of our monthly magazine, which was used to advertise forthcoming meetings and events, to a quarterly issue, which is useless for such a purpose.
