Minutes Of Meeting Held On 11/01/2014

Present: Peter Ireland and Grace Ireland, Jan Bickerton, Ian and Heather Gall, Beryl King, Ros Balston, Margaret and Philip Atkinson, Sally and Darcy Maunder, Ruth Sargent, Grace Moore, Beryl McKenna, Evelyn Nauschutz, Ros and Tony Balston, Leah and Rick Hogarth

Peter welcomed those present.

Minutes: The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Heather. Sally moved and Jan seconded that the minutes be accepted as read.

Business arising: Peter is getting the old mower repaired in Toowoomba.. The sprinklers are now working properly. Tony has the video of Mavis Hoskin's memories and the sound is good. The Council has dug out the other side of the island. Daryl is still to arrange for the younger men to clean out under the cottage and wash the inside of the school. The fire brigade is to wash the outside.

Correspondence :Heather moved that the inwards be received and the outwards endorsed. Seconded Margaret. Inwards — Western Downs Regional Council (insurance refund), Corrective Services Probation & Parole,Fiona Henderson (grants), Western Downs Recycling Grants. Outwards — Magazine (Breakfast). The meeting decided that it would be too big a job to supervise people doing community service as we haven't got the man power.

Treasure's Report: Ruth presented and moved her report for adoption. The Cr. Balance was $15,040.72. Income was $1132 gst refund and Expenditure was Wassells $9240 and $892.50 for Insurance. The Cr. Balance is now $6040.22. The Fixed Deposit is $15,600 and matures on the 12.1 and is to be reinvested at 3.35%. Beryl Seconded.

General Business:

• Carolyn Fisher at Communities is to be contacted to arrange to have the costs for shifting the school refunded to our Association. $600 should be refunded as this was our deposit and the other fees for the application to shift the building.
• Peter has requested 2 separate quotes from Rod Dolly to paint the outside and for the roof. Peter feels we should work on the outside first. He is to obtain a Yale lock for the front door.
• Jan would llike help to sort out the newspaper clippings from under the lino. Windows may be obtained from the recycling people.
• Australia Day Breakfast: The Lions will not provide a barbeque that morning. Breakfast will begin at 7am. Rob Brazier will provide music. Microphone will be needed from the library. The school children will raise the flag. David Tuppack will facilitate the fishing. Sally and Betty will attend to the soft drinks. (one and a half dozen of each only). Jan has ordered sausages.
• A clean up is needed in the cottage prior to the breakfast. Bunting to be put up this week.
• Heather is to invite Charlene Hall to attend and address the gathering.
• Rick reported that the Business Group is finalising the signage to promote Jandowae in a positive way.
• Margaret is to fill in the application for the recycling grant for rocks on the other side of the creek to stop erosion. Quotes to be obtained from Lennie Drescher.
• Peter will put up signs re: Viewing the heritage precinct at the Showgrounds.
• The barbeque was enjoyed by all present.
• Peter thanked all for attending and the next meeting will be on the 10th February at 7.30pm.
