Minutes of Meeting held on Monday 11 July 2011, 7:30pm at the Community Centre

  1. Minutes of Previous Meeting held 20th June 2011

Presented by Ros Cooper; moved by Jan Bickerton that the minutes be accepted as read, Seconded by Heather Gall, CARRIED.

 

  1. Business Arising from Minutes

 

Len Drescher did a great job on the creek, Ros Cooper to send him a thankyou letter on behalf of the committee.

 

There is approximately $960 left from the powerlink grant, there is one more bill coming, for the moving of Len Drescher’s equipment, which is to be paid from the grant money. After this bill is paid any remaining money can be used to purchase chemicals to keep the weeds under control. Moved by Beryl King that this is how the remaining money from the Powerlink Grant be used, Seconded Jan Bickerton CARRIED. Once the money has been used photos are to be taken and a report sent to Powerlink showing how successful the project has been.

 

  1.  Inward Correspondence

-         An invitation to the official launch of the Western Downs Regional Council’s tourism brand, In Jandowae it will be held at the Visitor Information Centre on Tuesday 26th July 2011

 

  1.  Outward Correspondence

Presented by Ros Cooper

-         A letter to the council asking for reimbursement of the $15 nomination fee for the Jimbour Opera

-         A letter to the council asking for reimbursement for the Tidy Towns nomination of $100 and the Keep Australia Beautiful Membership fee of $55

-         A thankyou letter to Ian Usher for all his work at the cottage

 

Ian Gall moved that the correspondence be accepted, seconded by Beryl King CARRIED

 

  1. General Business

 

Darryl to see Barry about restoring the baker’s oven.

 

Jan to ask Marree Taylor if she can have a look through the old school house and get Ian Wassell to value it.

 

We need to get onto the interpretive signs for the cottage.

 

Jan suggested that we get George Sturgess to take some copies of the photos

 Hilder Mandell donated.
